Teacher Grants

For the 2013-2014 school year Sunflower-Cottonwood PTO is piloting a new program to help teachers out with monetary grants. Our amazing teachers work so hard and provide so much to our students that PTO wants to help alleviate out of pocket expenses they occur when purchasing material, equipment and other items.

Details:
Teachers can apply for grants up to $300.00. They can only be awarded one grant a school year and they can apply for grants until one is awarded. The money has to be used in a way that will enrich lessons and reach all students in their classrooms.

For the teachers:
Guidelines:

The item(s) must benefit the whole classroom.
The item(s) are for instructional or enrichment purposes.
If  you feel there needs to be any special permissions from the principles it must be done prior to the submission of the application. (ex. field trips, speakers)
Any shipping costs or other fees need to be factored into the amount that  you submit.

PTO board will try to meet every few weeks or so to present all the current applications and make a collective decision on each application. Please submit your application several weeks in advance to allow the process of reviewing and deciding on applications to take place as well as time for ordering and shipping of items.

If your application is approved you will be given a purchase order form to fill out.  PTO will pay vendors directly and the items will be shipped to you.

Guidelines and processes are subject to change through out the year. We really appreciate your patience and corporation as we iron out the kinks in this new program.

If anyone has any questions or suggestions please feel free to contact PTO's treasurer
